In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Academy of Criminal Justice welcomed distinguished representatives from various law enforcement agencies to engage with students in a unique and insightful event. This exceptional gathering brought together esteemed officers from the Haledon Police Department, Caldwell Police Department, Passaic County Sheriff's Department, Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, and the New Jersey State Police.

The day commenced with these dedicated law enforcement professionals visiting classrooms, providing students with a comprehensive introduction to the world of law enforcement. They passionately shared the personal journeys that led them to choose this noble profession and recounted their invaluable experiences along the way. The officers offered a glimpse into the responsibilities they shoulder within their respective agencies and the rigorous path they followed to become officers.

However, the highlight of the event was the enlightening roundtable discussion, where these distinguished law enforcement officers candidly addressed the unique advantages and challenges faced by Hispanics in the field of law enforcement. The panel's open and honest dialogue shed light on the resilience, dedication, and commitment that characterize Hispanic officers in their pursuit of justice.

This event not only provided valuable insights to our students but also highlighted the Academy of Criminal Justice's dedication to promoting diversity and fostering understanding within the field of law enforcement. It underscored the significance of recognizing Hispanic heritage and the contributions of Hispanic law enforcement officers to our communities.

PCTI is grateful to all the officers who participated and looks forward to future engagements that further promote diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect within our community.
