PCTVS Receives National Recognition For Commitment To Empowering Students Through Project Lead The Way

PCTVS has achieved national recognition as a 2022-23 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished District for providing broad access to transformative learning experiences to students through its PLTW pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. PCTVS has become one of just 17 districts across the U.S. to receive this honor!

PCTVS has been dedicated to empowering students through cutting-edge STEM curriculum and exceptional career readiness programs. Our district’s leadership and faculty have tirelessly worked to ensure that students receive an education that equips them for success in both academia and the workforce.

The distinguished district status serves as a testament to PCTVS's excellence in preparing students for the challenges of the 21st century. This recognition not only highlights the school's commitment to academic achievement but also underscores its dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

Through PLTW programs, students develop in-demand knowledge and skills that benefit them throughout their lives and any career path they choose. As PLTW students progress, they are empowered to engage in problem-solving, enhance their technical knowledge, build communication skills, and explore various career opportunities.

“We are proud to recognize Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools for their commitment to providing students with exceptional educational experiences while ensuring equitable access to PLTW programs,” said Dr. David Dimmett, PLTW President and CEO. "We congratulate them on this achievement and celebrate their important work empowering students with the knowledge and skills to succeed, not only in STEM subjects, but also more generally in life and career."

With this designation PCTVS joins a community of PreK-12 schools, colleges and universities, and corporate and philanthropic partners across the country united around a passion for providing students with inspiring, engaging, and empowering learning opportunities. PLTW is a nonprofit organization that serves millions of PreK-12 students and teachers in schools across the U.S.
