Benjamin Irizarry, a senior in PCTI’s STEM Academy for Computer Science, earned a perfect score on the PSAT and has been named a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist—an honor achieved by fewer than 1% of the nation’s high school seniors. He is one of only three students in Passaic County to receive this distinction and now advances in the competition for a prestigious National Merit Scholarship.

Jayell Pallero, a senior in the PCTI Academy of Finance, is making his mark as part of the Boys Cross Country team. In addition to cross country, Jayell is a well-rounded Bulldog athlete, also competing in both Winter and Spring Track.

This season has been especially meaningful for him as it marks his first year running cross country: “It’s my first cross country, so it’s going pretty good. I think we’re on track to win counties and state sectionals.” His positive outlook and determination reflect his commitment to helping the team succeed.

Outside of athletics, Jayell enjoys spending time with friends, playing video games, and staying active with pickleball.

He shares his gratitude for those who support him: “I want to thank my team and my coach for nominating me for this position. Also, my friends, they help push me to do better.”

Looking ahead, Jayell is considering a future in finance or psychology after graduation.

Congratulations, Jayell!
